Code of
Conduct
Recognizing the importance of etiquette in the history and spirit of golf, the USGA amended and expanded the Etiquette section of the Rules of Golf in 2004 to give broader guidance to players and professionals entrusted to grow the game of golf.

To support the USGA’s goals of returning etiquette to a more prominent place in golf, the Junior Golf at Torrey Pines program is instituting a Code of Conduct.

Conduct of Players: Any conduct unbecoming a junior golfer shall be subject to one warning by an instructor and immediate suspension for the remaining portion of the golf event for any subsequent violation. Such conduct shall include cheating, showing disrespect to instructors, abusive language, club throwing, smoking, profanity, littering or leaving trash on the course, or other displays of inappropriate behavior.

Conduct of Spectators/Parents: The Junior Golf at Torrey Pines program encourages spectators and parents to attend our golf events, and requires spectators and parents to adhere to the same Code of Conduct laid forth for the members of the Junior Golf at Torrey Pines program.

Repeat Offenders: The Director of Golf reserves the right to assess any or all of the following penalties based on the severity of the Code of Conduct Violation:
1) Issue a written letter of warning to the member and his/her parent/guardian.
2) Suspend the member for one or more upcoming events.
3) Suspend the member’s membership for remainder of the program.

Suspension: In the event of suspension, the member/spectator/parent may submit a written account of the Code of Conduct violation to the Director of Golf within seven days of the suspension.
